Continuous Flight Auger (CFA) piling is a single-pass piling method engineered for unstable or water-charged ground conditions where a traditional open bore would collapse. Unlike bored piling, CFA drills to the full required depth in one continuous pass. As the auger is withdrawn, concrete is injected from the bottom of the hole upward through the centre of the auger string, immediately replacing excavated material.
The reinforcement cage is then inserted into the wet concrete, completing the pile. This method eliminates the risk of hole collapse and is the preferred solution for sandy, loose, or heavily water-charged ground. Commonly seen in coastal environments.
80% of our 15-rig fleet is CFA-capable, ranging from 40-tonne to 180-tonne machines, the right rig for every job.
Full pile installation in one continuous pass means faster cycle times, less ground disturbance and reduced program risk
Up to 1,200mm diameter and 38m depth, with the rig weight and torque to push through soft or fractured rock when encountered.
