APG drilled and installed the foundation piles for a major multi-level warehouse and robotics fulfilment facility at Kemps Creek, with large-diameter bored piles founded over 19m deep to carry the structure’s heavy multi-level loading.
Azzuri Concrete contracted Australian Piling Group (APG) to construct the foundation piles for a major new warehouse and distribution facility at Kemps Creek, described as Australia’s first multi-level warehouse.
The development incorporates a robotics fulfilment centre and advanced storage and distribution facility, expected to create around 1,500 ongoing warehouse roles and 700 jobs during construction. APG’s scope included the large-diameter bored-pile foundations supporting the multi-level structure.
The combination of 1500mm and 900mm diameters founded beyond 19m provided the load capacity required to support a multi-level warehouse, which carries substantially higher floor loading than a conventional single-storey facility.
APG deployed its bored-piling fleet and experienced crews, supported by in-house design and engineering, to install foundation piles across the large warehouse footprint.
A multi-level warehouse imposes significantly greater structural loads than a standard industrial shed. Delivering large-diameter piles to depth, to the capacity and tolerance required by the structure, called for high-capacity piling equipment, experienced crews, and rigorous quality control throughout the foundation schedule.
With foundations spread across an extensive warehouse footprint, APG coordinated its fleet and crews to maintain output and programme across the site while integrating with the broader construction sequence.
