Baulkham Hills Waves Aquatic Centre Foundations

Project Information

APG delivered the design and construct foundation piling for the $55 million refurbishment of the Waves Aquatic Centre, installing more than 450 foundation piles using both bored and screw pile methods.

The Brief

Australia Piling Group (APG) delivered the foundation piling for ADCO Constructions on the $55 million refurbishment of the Waves Aquatic Centre at Baulkham Hills, a major community facility. The centre features a FINA-standard 10-lane Olympic pool, a combined 25-metre learn-to-swim and leisure pool, a swimming clubhouse, and a gym and fitness centre.

APG took the foundation scope as a design-and-construct package, supporting the facility on over 450 piles.

Technical Scope of Work

Matching Pile Type To Structural Demand

Delivering the foundation as a design-and-construct package allowed APG to select the appropriate pile type across the site, combining bored and screw piles to suit the facility’s varying structural and ground conditions.

Challenges & APG Solutions

Matching Pile Type To Structural Demand

A facility of this scale, combining large pool structures with clubhouse and gym buildings, presented varying foundation loads across the site. APG’s in-house design allowed the team to use bored or screw piles as required in each area, delivering over 450 piles to suit the differing structural demands within a single coordinated programme.
