Australian Piling Group (APG) delivered the bored piling for the Stacey Street road widening at Bankstown. APG worked alongside Burton Contractors for the state roads authority. The project adds lanes in both directions to improve traffic flow through the corridor. APG’s scope covered the bored piles, steel casing works and concrete testing, executed within a constrained roadside environment adjacent to live traffic and a Sydney Water canal.

Narrow Access and Live Traffic
The work was carried out in a narrow roadside corridor alongside live, ongoing traffic. This required detailed collaboration among all parties to agree on the construction methodology and staging. This allowed the piling to proceed safely without disrupting the surrounding road network.
A Sydney Water canal sat in proximity to the pile line, introducing the risk of damage to the asset. APG implemented extensive monitoring throughout the works to ensure the canal remained protected while the piles were installed in accordance with the programme.
