APG X MOITS Burwood Project

Project Information

APG installed 600mm bored piles to 20m for a four-level basement dig-out in Burwood, taking the shoring piles below the neighbouring basements on a tightly constrained site.

The Brief

Australian Piling Group (APG) worked alongside N.Moit & Sons to deliver the shoring piles for a four-level basement excavation at George Street, Burwood, on a narrow, constrained inner-suburban site bordered by neighbouring basements.

T2D forms part of South Australia’s largest infrastructure development and will complete the final section of the Adelaide North-South Corridor, significantly improving traffic flow and connectivity through the city. APG’s scope spans major retaining structures, tunnel infrastructure, bridge foundations and temporary works, delivered concurrently across multiple work fronts.

Challenges & APG Solutions

Piling Below Adjacent Basements On A Constrained Site

With neighbouring basements directly abutting the site, APG had to drive the shoring piles below the existing basements to safely retain the excavation. Delivering this on a narrow strip of land demanded precise setout and careful methodology to protect the adjacent structures throughout the works.
