The GEAX EK40 forms part of APG’s in-house piling rig fleet, providing specialist low-headroom and restricted-access drilling capability for piling, civil and infrastructure projects. Weighing 14.9 tonnes in its standard configuration and 9 tonnes in its low-headroom configuration, it is designed to operate beneath bridges, inside existing structures and in other confined environments where larger piling rigs cannot be deployed.
Key Specifications
– Maximum Depth: 27 m+
– Maximum Pile Diameter: 1,000 mm
– Piling Applications: Bored, Cased and CFA
– Operating Weight: 14.9 tonnes (standard configuration), 9 tonnes (low-headroom configuration)
– Maximum Torque: 85 kNm
Despite its compact footprint, the EK40 delivers 85 kNm of torque, supports bored, cased and CFA piling applications, and is capable of constructing piles up to 1,000 mm in diameter and 27 metres or more in depth. This combination of compact size, drilling performance and versatility makes it an effective solution for projects requiring high-quality foundation construction in challenging site conditions.
The GEAX EK40 is commonly used for low-headroom piling, restricted-access construction, basement and internal building works, bridge widening, rail possession works, temporary and permanent steel casing installation, and projects with limited overhead clearance.
